In August 2025, a Spectacled Owl arrived at RAREC after a local worker heard his dog barking, and found two big eyes staring back at him. A Spectacled Owl, grounded and unable to fly. At RAREC, our team gave him a full medical evaluation including X-rays, bloodwork, and a physical exam. He spent two months at RAREC being rehabilitated and at the beginning of November 2025 was moved to a separate facility to continue his care and hopefully one day be released back into the jungle!
