Red-tailed Boa Quick Release

A Red tailed Boa slithering away through the forest after being released by RAREC

Late in the evening we had an 11kg, 2.8m red-tailed boa brought to RAREC. Sadly, it had been caught with the hope of selling it, but after a health check by our vets, it was deemed healthy enough to release the next morning, in our reserve. Well done to the vets for carrying such a heavy cargo through the jungle! ?

Buying an animal is not rescuing it, it actually fuels the demand for the illegal pet trade and poaching. If you see wild animals for sale (including online), please do not buy them, but report it to the authorities.
