Veterinarian in Wild Animals
Start date: May 15th
This is an Paid position with 3 meals per day and accommodations included.
About the role: 5-days a week, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, breaks at certain times of the day for food and snacks.
General tasks are:
- Provide preventative, routine and emergency veterinary care to animals at RAREC.
- Direct and guide the practices of students, interns or practitioners of Veterinary Medicine and related sciences, complying with the schedule of weekly activities.
- Provide guidance to students in veterinary medical check-ups, direct training activities chemical containment, veterinary emergencies and surgeries if necessary.
- Provide theoretical readings to students.
Requirements:
- Proffesional in Veterinary Medicine
- Experience in Wild Animals
- Experience giving classes and guiding students
Internship in Wild Animals Welfare Caretaker
Start date: May 15th or sooner
This is an unpaid position with 3 meals per day and accommodations included.
About the role: 5-days a week, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, breaks at certain times of the day for food and snacks.
General tasks are:
• Prepare food and water for animals
• Keep animal records
• Report abnormal conditions to superiors
• Clean enclosures, pools, animal sleeping areas, kitchen and storage areas
• Support the animal`s enrichment program to assigned animals
• Perform routine maintenance on enclosures
• Guide and help the volunteers and interns in the activities and projects
Requirements:
• Commitment for 3 months (mandatory)
• Studies in wild animal husbandry, biology or related fields
• Knowledge about safety practices around wild animals
• Applicants must be able to comprehend and use oral and written English.
• Spanish speakers (optional)
Internship in Wildlife Tracking Data
Project: Amazonian Manatee Release
Start date: May 1st or sooner
This is an unpaid position with 3 meals per day and accommodations included.
General tasks are:
Working in the Amazon Rainforest using VHF tracking
We are looking for individuals with skills in data collection and fluency in written and spoken English.
Requirements:
• Commitment for 3 months (mandatory)
• Applicants must be able to comprehend and use oral and written English.
• Spanish speakers (desiderable)
