Full and Half-day volunteering
We open for short half-day visits or a one-day volunteer experience to educate and encourage local people and tourists to appreciate, understand and protect wildlife and its natural habitats through our educational experience.
You can choose between a Full Day experience from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm that includes lunch, and a Half Day experience from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Activities:
Subject to change
- General tour of RAREC
- Support with cleaning enclosures
- Preparation of food supplements and their delivery to the enclosures
- Support enrichment programs for animals
- Forage for native foods of animals such as insects, plants, flowers
Requirements:
- No specific experience necessary, but good team working skills are necessary
- An interest in wildlife conservation,
- Good listening skills and capable of following instructions
- ≥18 years old (Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult)
- Physically and mentally healthy and able to do physical activity in humid environment.

Reservations:
- Can be booked any day of the week
- Reservations have to be made at least 48 hours before,
- we need:
- your complete name,
- age,
- nationality,
- allergies or dietary restrictions,
- shoe and t-shirt size.

Full Day: S/. 100 per person
Half Day: S/. 50 per person
Includes: Guided Tour, activities, water, Full Day includes lunch.
Doesn't include transport to/from RAREC
IMPORTANT:
You will not be allowed to enter any of the enclosures without the supervision of our staff, handle or touch any of the animals, we have a strict no contact policy. If you are seen to break any of these rules we have the right to terminate the experience.
