HOW TO FIND US
We are located on the right side of the road from Iquitos to Nauta, at kilometer 47. You can reach us by car or take one of the local buses. The bus station is called Transportes Jaén, located at Calle Aguirre Cuadra 14. The ticket cost is a maximum of 15 soles. Be sure to inform the driver that your stop is RAREC at Km. 47.
REQUIREMENTS AND POLICIES
- Please note that entry into any enclosures is strictly prohibited without the supervision of our staff. We maintain a strict no-contact policy to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our beloved residents.
- Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
- Be prepared for physical activity in a humid environment.
- Visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- We kindly ask all visitors to have valid medical insurance.
VISIT RAREC
Join us for an unforgettable one-day volunteering experience at RAREC! This hands-on opportunity allows you to actively contribute to the care of Amazonian wildlife while learning about our conservation efforts. Your day will include:
- Explore our center and meet the incredible Amazonian species, such as manatees, ocelots, anteaters, sloths, and primates like spider and woolly monkeys.
- Support with Cleaning Enclosures.
- Assist in preparing and delivering food supplements to the animals.
- Take part in enrichment activities designed to stimulate the animals mentally and physically.
- Collect natural foods for our animals, including insects, plants, and flowers.
- Lunch is included, and you’ll have the chance to enjoy a meal while discussing conservation and wildlife care with our staff.
AVAILABILITY
Our One-Day Volunteering Experience is available every day of the week, except Wednesday from 8am to 3pm.

- Foreigners: S/. 150 per person
- Peruvian Nationals: S/. 100 per person
