EdUCATION PROJECT

We recently equipped our education room at RAREC with modern technology. This upgrade allows us to integrate interactive tools. However our ultimate goal is to establish a fully modernized school at RAREC to ensure that future generations are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to protect the Amazon for years to come.
Education IS THE KEY FOR LONG LASTING CHANGE
At RAREC, we understand that education plays a vital role in conservation, particularly in areas like Iquitos, where poaching and environmental destruction threaten the Amazon.
Many local communities are unaware of the ecological importance of native species and their legal protection status, which contributes to illegal activities like poaching, deforestation, and improper waste management. Species such as primates, reptiles, and birds are often targeted for the exotic pet trade, bushmeat, or traditional medicine. This is largely driven by poverty, lack of education, and limited economic opportunities, where wildlife trafficking offers a quick, though illegal, source of income. Our education programs aim to break this cycle by providing sustainable alternatives to poaching and helping communities understand the value of conservation.

Our programs provide educational opportunities for children aged 10 and above in nearby communities, focusing on sustainable development, English, and artistic expression. We aim to teach these communities skills in wildlife care, environmental conservation, aquaculture, sustainable agriculture, recycling, handgrafting and more. Additionally, we introduce computer science and tools like augmented reality to demonstrate the potential of technology. Our mission is to empower students to pursue more sustainable career paths
